This podcast allowed me to take what I have written about in the past couple weeks and turn it into a very educational conversation. The paper was just me proving my points and what I thought about the topic but to have a meaningful conversation with someone who might have different views and experiences was what this podcast allowed me to do. The paper however was more organized. I was allowed to display quotes and elaborate off them with them in an organized way that I decided, whereas the podcast is a little more chaotic and I had to act on my feet off of what my interviewee said. The revision process of getting from a paper to a podcast was very interesting. I had to decide what was important enough to be kept out of a 4 page paper that I believed was entirely important. One other difference I noticed was how much a conversation about a topic can actually open up more information and more thinking on a subject. If I had to pick between writing a paper and doing a podcast in the future I would definitely pick the podcast. I felt the most creative energy was in devising the podcast paper because that is where I devised the conversation and how I wanted it to go and the questions I wanted to ask in order to steer the interview in that direction.
